Set in the middle of Yass township, the Yass Railway Museum is a little bit of a hidden gem. Take a walk through the yard and view the main station building, the station master's residence, an original loading bank, goods shed, the mighty black 1307 Steam locomotive and everyone's favourite model railway. Of course, you can also come and view the powerful black 1307 Steam locomotive that was the mainstay of the state railway system and in service for nearly 95 years.
The Railway yard is also perfect for a picnic, and visitors are encouraged to bring their lunch with them and spend a few hours enjoying the grounds. For more information or to contact them, please visit the website.
