Annie and Graham Bush created and started Annie’s in 1984 , after moving to Bathurst from the Northern Beaches with their two sons Josh and Israel. Taking two years of research and an inspiring trip to Disneyland, help them with the concept.

At that time Bathurst was yearning for a place to accommodate young families in a recreational outlet. At this time fresh made icecream was being introduced in Sydney, so combining that concept with an old fashioned icecream parlour theme, Annie’s was born!

They created such flavours as Sofala Gold and Bridle Track to tie in with the location! A second outlet was opened in 1985 in the Bathurst Center with an over-the-counter experience including freshly made doughnuts. Sadly this is now closed, but the George Street Parlour is still trading after 40 years! The current owners are Greg Marray and Lisa Pitts.

At Annie’s, the ice cream is made fresh daily on-site. The parlour’s signature flavours include Sofala Gold and Bridle Track, along with more classic flavours like Choc Hazelnut, Caramel Choc Chip and Coffee and Walnut. There’s also a comprehensive cafe menu that includes gluten-free meals and snacks.

Dine in, or wander across to pretty Machattie Park, a three-minute walk away.

Actively welcomes people with access needs.
